To Make an AppointmentCarle Health is deeply committed to protecting the security and confidentiality of our patients’ information. This notice is to inform our CCIN patients about an incident involving some of that information.
In June 2021, Carle Health learned that the Community Cancer Center experienced a malware infection in May of 2018 that encrypted a computer workstation. We immediately took steps to investigate the incident and understand what information may have been involved. While the Community Cancer Center removed the infection from its systems in May of 2018, additional review determined limited health information may have been included in files on the infected workstation impacting a small number of patients. Information included patient names, date of birth, city or state of residence, insurance carrier, referring provider, disease site, and information about procedures a patient may have received at the Community Cancer Center.
Carle Health and CCIN encourage patients to monitor statements from health insurers and contact them should you see services you do not recognize.
